Vijaya, I agree with you. I think harvesting and conversion tactics are damaging and create cultural converts as opposed to authentic Christians. In my own journey I personally wanted to convert. No one had to convince me. Granted I asked a lot of questions they answered, but it was my decision in the end. Sadly, many can use scare tactics or I’ve seen missionaries require conversion in order to help others. This does not produce authentic faith—and as you aptly pointed out—has lead to inequality and strife. Power, influence, and money have driven much of the Western church and we can see how it’s produced largely ineffective and consumeristic followers. it is, indeed, a cycle that must be broken.
