True. Realistically, it’s not necessarily control (in some ways it is), but more proper handling and training which leads to responsible ownership and a healthy fear. Also, I didn’t wanna call out the Navy/Air Force guys (ha), but their weapons training is indeed less than that of the Army and Marines. I also forgot about AAFES and the Post Exchange! Good catch!

You are also correct the military does have a lot of room to grow and certainly isn’t perfect. However, compared to how they handle weapons versus the civilian populace, I still contend it’s years ahead of the populace at large.
