Thanks for the link to that article Justin. It’s weird the amount of hate this platform gets when people don’t have their work rise to the top (the only exception being Fiction and Poetry and I have no idea how to fix that. But hey, I write fiction too and am not expecting that to blow up. Instead I’m writing a fantasy novel). I feel every writer on here needs to learn from Stephen King, Steven Pressfield, and Anne Lamott’s books about writing. If you don’t love the craft and only want fans, you continue to reward the clickbaity system. But if you love the craft, you face down rejection after rejection and just. keep. writing. You write because you love it. Because you can’t not write. You write on paper, napkins, journals, WordPress, Facebook, and Medium. Wherever you can put words you do. And sometimes, just sometimes, the muse smiles on you and other people love what you’ve written too.
