Hey Christopher, I actually know Jake (the founder of Team Rubicon) and interviewed him a while ago while we were at the Classy Awards in June. Both our non-profits were nominated for an award. That being said, I’ve been a big advocate of Team Rubicon for a while. But the non-profit I work for deals with mental health and was more the focus of this article.

Like the article stated, I’ve moved on and embraced the challenges and transitioned well. At the same time, I realize the difficulties many veterans have coming home or returning to civilian life and wanted to write a piece that empathizes with their struggle, but also points to how their expertise and worldviews can be amazingly helpful. It will take both civilians and veterans working hand-in-hand to bridge much of the divide that exists today.

Thanks for your insight and reading my piece.
