Great question, Andrei. It’s impossible to persevere without good boundaries in place. Recently, I went through an amazingly difficult time where I let people emotionally drain me because of bad boundaries. Some people are takers. Some jobs are toxic. You have to know where to draw lines, but that doesn’t mean you don’t continue forward. I think a lot of people stay in toxic relationships and friendships because they’re too afraid to move forward without the other person. The unknown is scary, but stepping into the unknown and putting one foot in front of the other is, indeed, responsible and persistent. The key is knowing where and what to be persistent in that moves you more toward becoming a healthier and whole hearted person.
